BERLIN - The European Outdoor Group (EOG) trade body has welcomed German proposals to introduce legislation that would that make companies legally responsible for human rights and environmental issues throughout their supply chains.

Two German ministers, Gerd Müller and Hubertus Heil, are planning to propose the new Supply Chain Act to German parliament when it resumes in September.

It would mean companies would have to carry out due diligence not just in Germany but in every country in their supply chains, from where raw materials are sourced and assembled to their final destination.
