LONDON - The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has launched a programme to develop the first science-based global standard for corporate net-zero target setting.
SBTi has published a new paper which lays out the conceptual foundations for credible, science-based net-zero targets for the corporate sector.
It gives limited support for carbon offsetting which has been criticised in some quarters as effectively buying a licence to pollute the environment.
