BERKSHIRE – American apparel retailer Fruit of the Loom has published its first annual sustainability report, timing it alongside the launch of a new company strategy which will address the environmental impact of its global operations.

Outlining the ambition of its new Fruitful Futures sustainability plan, the firm says it will align with five of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals focusing on gender equality, clean water and energy, decent work and responsible consumption and production.

“We are incredibly proud to publish our 2019 sustainability report and to announce Fruitful Futures, our comprehensive sustainability plan, uniting our global employees under shared goals that further our commitments to our customers and consumers,” said Melissa Burgess Taylor, chairman & CEO at Fruit of the Loom.
