JERUSALEM – Israel says it intends to become the first nation globally to ban the buying and selling of animal furs. 

Environmental protection minister Gila Gamliel described the trade of such products “immoral” and has stated that new rules will require people to obtain a permit if they’re to engage in such activities – which will only be given the green light in cases of “scientific research, education or for instruction and for religious purposes or tradition”.
