TÜBINGEN – A new sustainability report from the CHT Group points to reductions in water use, waste and energy by the textile chemical specialist which earlier this week was also a signatory to the new alliance for Sustainable Chemistry for the Textile Industry (SCTI).

The company says it is also changing its sourcing practises for raw materials with an improved environmental profile, including the use of more recycled ingredients and has phased out the use of fluorochemistry and a group of potentially hazardous solvents.

The company’s textile chemical business amounts to Euro 371 million in the last fiscal year which was up 5 per cent on the previous 12 months with its textile dyestuff business growing by 13 per cent.
