LEEDS – Supermarket chain Asda is set to trial a new sustainability concept store in the UK which will introduce changes to the way in which its clothing brand George operates.

In Middleton, Leeds, the concept store will showcase apparel made with more ‘sustainable’ materials, the company says, including recycled content.

Asda has released bold sustainability ambitions alongside the unveiling of this store, which includes a target to remove three billion pieces of plastic from its own-brand products by 2025. “Today marks an important milestone in our journey as we tackle plastic pollution and help our customers to reduce, re-use and recycle,” Asda chief executive Roger Burnley said.
