BORAS - Scientists at a Swedish university are researching ways to create a sustainably-produced fabric from paper in a three-year collaboration with industry.

The Forest Fabrics project, at the University of Borås, has already succeeded in creating fabric from paper and is now examining the potential to scale up the process.

Tor Ahlbom, of textile producer Svenskt Konstsilke, one of the project collaborators, said: "We have succeeded to make yarn out of paper, and some pilot garments.
