PHNOM PENH – Cambodia’s Supreme Court has denied a bail application from prominent labour leader Rong Chhun who was contentiously arrested back in late July for speaking out on “politically sensitive matters” relating to the government’s handling of its borders with Vietnam.

Chhun, a former politician with Cambodian opposition party the CNRP (Cambodia National Rescue Party) and one of many garment workers’ rights activists to have been arrested for allegedly stirring social unrest, will face a charge of incitement when he returns to the courtroom on December 2nd.
