BRUSSELS - The European Commission has revealed the identities of the winners of its 2020 European Social Innovation Competition - this year held on the theme of 'Reimagine Fashion'.

The three winners of the contest - launched to find early-stage, scalable solutions to the most pressing sustainability issues - each receive prize money of €50,000 (US$60,000).

They are Belgium start-up Resortecs which developed dissolvable thread and heat-dismountable rivets to ease garment recycling, Croatian digital platform Snake which enables users to wear limitless outfits in augmented reality, and the Romanian WhyWeCraft legal support mechanism for craftspeople and designers.
