MILAN – Sustainable fashion consultancy C.L.A.S.S., which has bases in Milan, London and New York has re-organised its operations in the wake of the global pandemic with online events, virtual talks with global leaders and a new app dedicated to smart textiles.

Now known as C.L.A.S.S. ecohub, the organisation runs annual awards for designers, stylists and creatives who bring sustainability to the public at large and rethink ways of communicating fashion; it has a programme of virtual talks and now includes a ‘smart shop’ platform which incorporates e-commerce that uses an interactive app.

“For us 2020 has been a year for renewal, transformation and evolution. Communication and education have always been in C.L.A.S.S. DNA”, said CEO and founder Giusy Bettoni. “As the pandemic unfolded upon the world, we realised that it can’t be just a tool, but a new dimension – a new defining framework – shaping and merging the new generation of sustainable values, products and business.”

The re-organisation features a new ‘smart tools’ area which includes a material hub featuring a bank of advanced textiles and yarns, a section focusing on the circular economy and business models; a look at process technology including textile machinery and other manufacturing applications and a section that looks at new ways of digital communication.

Founded in 2007, C.L.A.S.S. (Creativity Lifestyle and Sustainable Synergy) has supported brands, manufacturers and designers to make and integrate strategic choices in terms of responsible sourcing in the textile sector.
