HONG KONG - The H&M Foundation and the Hong Kong Research Institute of Textile and Apparel (HKRITA) have announced a five year partnership - 'Planet First' - to explore sustainable developments for the textiles and fashion industry.

The foundation, a non-profit funded by the H&M fashion group, is investing US$12 million in the collaboration which seeks to build on an existing partnership with the research institute dating back to 2016.

The project is also being supported by the Innovation and Technology Fund of the Hong Kong government, taking the funding to US$100 million over the five years.
