YANGON – Fashion brand Bestseller is working in collaboration with German development agency GIZ to develop a communications campaign for Myanmar’s garment industry that’ll raise awareness of the risks COVID-19 continues to pose.   

Earlier this year, workers’ unions in the Southeast Asian nation labelled the Ministry of Labour’s workplace safety guidelines “unfair”, as responsibility was placed with employees, not factory bosses, to mitigate the transmission of the virus.  

Bestseller says it hopes to instil confidence in its supply chain partners by providing educational resources on how best to thwart the contagion.
