GLOBAL - Two initiatives set up to change the fashion industry after the onset of the coronavirus pandemic have joined forces in a bid to solve what they see as some of the sector’s biggest issues.

Belgian designer Dries Van Noten, along with brands and retailers including Thom Browne, Acne studios, Mytheresa and Selfridges, signed an open letter back in May proposing to adjust the "seasonality and flow" of the fashion industry.

Around the same time, Rewiring Fashion, another initiative made up of designers, executives and retailers, called for changes to a fashion calendar which they felt was out-dated and out-of-sync with customers.
