XINJIANG - More than half a million Uyghur Muslim prisoners are reportedly being used as forced labour to pick the huge cotton harvests of the Xinjiang region of China.

Dr Adrian Zenz, a leading expert on China's treatment of Uyghurs and other minority groups in the region, which accounts for more than a fifth of the world's cotton, claims to have uncovered new evidence of the scale of the problem.

Up to two million Uyghur Muslims and other Turkic groups are being held by the Chinese authorities in what has been described as the largest mass incarceration of people since the Holocaust.
