DENVER – Apparel giant VF Corp, which owns the likes of The North Face, Timberland and Vans, has announced its commitment to the UN’s Global Compact (UNGC) and its Women’s Empowerment Principles.

Signatories of the UNGC pledge to champion corporate responsibility within their supply chains, regardless of company size, and work by 10 guiding principles relating to human rights, the environment, labour and anti-corruption.

“The social and environmental issues exposed by the COVID-19 pandemic have been extraordinary and we believe, now more than ever that business has a crucial role to play in respecting human rights and protecting the environment,” said Julie Sutton, senior director, government affairs and global impact, and the human rights lead for VF.
