CHARLOTTESVILLE – A new collaboration between chemistry software provider Scivera, and textile equipment maker, Jeanologia, aims to give apparel brands a deeper insight into the environmental impact of chemical formulations used during textile wet processing.
Spanish-based Jeanologia which specialises in processing equipment for denim laundries, will now use the SciveraLens platform as part of its own Environmental Impact Measurement (EIM) system to give ‘safer chemistry scores’ for formulations based on the ZDHC manufacturing restricted substance list (MRSL) and screened chemistry tools.
Previously, the EIM relied on ‘high/medium/low’ scores for potentially hazardous chemistry based on self-assessment according to TEGEWA guidelines.
