MUNICH – Functional textile manufacturer Sympatex has followed in the footsteps of European outdoor brand Vaude by announcing a partnership with the eBay Upcycling Store.

Launched back in March of last year, the store affords companies the chance to sell surplus fabrics and production offcuts to sewing and crafting enthusiasts via the popular consumer marketplace.

Sympatex business development manager, Carina Dietrich, described the venture as “a wonderful illustration of what matters when it comes to sustainability in the textile industry”.

“We need creative solutions, the courage to develop new ideas, to think around corners and try out new things,” she said.
