DENVER – Fashion giant VF Corporation, which owns Vans, The North Face and Timberland, is disclosing information on its suppliers - from Tier 1 through to Tier 4 - in what it describes as unprecedented industry transparency.
The company has published details of its suppliers for 46 products so far in a consolidated, downloadable file. It aims to extend this to cover 100 products by December.
Information includes where suppliers are based, what they produce, numbers of male and female employees, certification details for materials, chemical management, and health and safety, as well as worker wellbeing, community development and environmental sustainability programmes.
