VANCOUVER – The founder and executive director of environmental NGO Canopy, Nicole Rycroft, is one of just two recipients of this year’s Climate Breakthrough Awards for her organisation’s work to protect ancient and endangered forests, and will subsequently receive a US$3 million grant.
“I’m incredibly honoured to receive this award from Climate Breakthrough to address the challenges we face in this turn around decade for our planet,” said Rycroft. “No individual or single company can resolve the planetary crises of climate change and biodiversity loss by themselves. Whole supply chains need to shift – and fast.”
