UTAH – Animal rights organisation PETA has called on the Governor of Utah, Spencer Cox, to outlaw mink farms in the US state, after it came to light that the death of one farm worker from COVID-19 was kept under wraps.
The organisation has long since campaigned for the worldwide ban of mink farms, reaffirming that cramped mink cages hold the potential to be vectors for the virus.
“Closing these farms would protect the health of workers and Utah residents, in addition to sparing countless minks a miserable life,” a PETA statement said.
