STOCKHOLM – A progress report from forty Nordic textile and fashion companies, shows an initial joint 10,000 tonne reduction in baseline CO2 emissions; with an ambition to meet goals in line with the Paris Agreement on climate change.

This is the first time the companies – all members of The Swedish Textile Initiative for Climate Action (STICA) – have collectively reported on their scope 1 and scope 2 CO2 baseline progress, in a bid to calculate the more challenging indirect scope 3 supply chain emissions starting in 2021.

“The companies presented in this progress report are setting a new standard for the apparel and textiles industry,” says Mike Schragger, founder of STICA. “They have committed to measuring and publicly reporting their greenhouse gas emissions on an annual basis according to robust standards. They have committed to time bound reduction targets. Now, in order to meet these targets, they will need to integrate climate action into everything they do, from business strategy, to supply chain management, to customer engagement.”

Member companies include the likes of Fjällraven, Bergens, Lindex, KappAhl, H&M, Peak Performance and Volvo.
