AMSTERDAM – The ZDHC has launched new Wastewater System Operator Minimum Qualifications Guidelines in a bid to close the skills gap and ensure facilities around the world are best equipped to maintain regulatory compliance with the organisation’s Wastewater Guidelines.

With this toolkit, the ZDHC aims to standardise the minimum qualifications for education, training and experience required of operators and technicians working wastewater treatment systems at all manufacturing facilities and other facilities operating effluent treatment plants (ETPs).

John Rydzewski, director of water programmes at ZDHC affiliate Nike, said: “The Wastewater Treatment System Operator Minimum Qualifications Guidelines will be instrumental in driving much-needed structural change. They will provide an invaluable tool to ensure cleaner wastewater discharges that will enable cost-effective wastewater recycling to reduce the freshwater footprints of textile mills.”
