ARLINGTON – Environmental non-profit Conservation International and the Fashion Pact, an initiative with more than 200 brand signatories, have kick-started a new project that will address the sector’s impact on biodiversity.

Efforts will be co-executed by the pair, with US$2 million in funding provided by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and an additional US$2m from the likes of The Biodiversity Consultancy, University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership and the United Nations Development Programme.

Bambi Semroc, Conservation International acting senior vice president for the Center for Sustainable Lands and Waters, says she is “proud to partner with The Fashion Pact and its member companies to develop biodiversity strategies that conserve and restore forests and improve management of agricultural lands”.
