MASSY – French conglomerate Carrefour has announced plans to trial blockchain technology on products in its own-brand textile product range. 

The company, which already uses the solution amongst its food supplies as part of blockchain provider IBM’s Food Trust, says an initial 450 products – such as bed linens and baby bodysuits – will be traced across France and Spain.  

It falls under Carrefour’s 2030 strategy of ensuring all its textile-based products are sustainable and traceable.
