NEW YORK — Fashion company Ralph Lauren has launched a "revolutionary" new dyeing platform which it claims will eventually lead to the world’s first scalable zero wastewater cotton dyeing system.

The company's new 'Color on Demand' system consists of a variety of technologies designed to enable the recycling and reuse of all water from the dyeing process, currently a major source of untreated wastewater globally.

Ralph Lauren says the first products made with Color on Demand will go on sale later this year and it aims to use it for more than 80 per cent of all solid cotton products by 2025.
