PORTLAND – After successfully removing PFCs from its supply chain, US footwear brand Keen is sharing its insight by publishing an open-source model explaining how other companies can follow suit.

“We spent the last seven years researching, developing and refining what is now a proven process to eliminate PFCs from our products without sacrificing performance, and we want to share this for the common good,” said Erik Burbank, vice president, The Keen Effect.

The Oregon-headquartered brand has challenged the outdoor footwear industry to become PFC-free by 2025.
