ABIDJAN - The fashion and textiles industry has been highlighted as a key opportunity to develop a circular economy for Africa, according to a new World Economic Forum report.

Entitled 'Five Big Bets for the Circular Economy in Africa', the report is the work of the WEF's African Circular Economy Alliance (ACEA) which was launched in 2017 to spur Africa’s transition to a circular economy.

It identifies fashion and textiles - along with food systems, packaging, the built environment and electronics - as the big opportunities for increasing circularity on the continent.
