MUMBAI – Textile fibre manufacturer Birla Cellulose has emerged as the winner of the first ‘National Innovative and Sustainable Supply Chain Award’, presented by United Nations Global Compact Network India (GCNI).  

The Aditya Birla brand received the honour for its work tackling textile waste and improving transparency within its global network.   

Dilip Gaur, Birla’s business director, said: “We are proud to be recognised for our innovative next generation solution for upcycling the textile waste, reducing the pressure on virgin materials and establishing transparency in complex fashion value chain. These efforts are aligned to our prioritised UN SDG goals and dedicated to building circular business models which are based on partnerships that add value to stakeholders, people and planet.”
