SAN FRANCISCO – Animal rights organisation PETA will today attend denim brand Levi’s digital annual meeting in a bid to influence a ban on animal leather.

The non-profit routinely attends the meetings of fashion brands and retailers, having bought minimal shares in several leading names – including Burberry, Guess and URBN – in order to secure an invitation and enforce its will.

It attended Levi’s meeting last year in another bid to bring about a ban, and has taken particular issue with the fact the San Francisco brand uses real leather patches on selected products in its denim range, despite using a paper alternative in others.
