BRANDE – Danish company Bestseller has become the latest in the fashion industry to put a halt on placing orders with its suppliers in Myanmar following the military coup.

Bestseller joins brands and retailers such as H&M, Primark and Benneton which halted new orders from Myanmar because of the unstable situation in the country where garment workers have been at the heart of protests.

The company says it has not placed any orders in Myanmar since 19th March, and it urged the European Union (EU) to issue clear guidelines for how companies should conduct themselves following the sanctions announced this week.
