LONDON - The UK government is exploring the idea of appointing a 'garment trade adjudicator' to stamp out noncompliance with employment laws in the fashion industry.

The idea was put forward last month by the government's Environmental Audit Committee (EAC) which is carrying out an inquiry into the impact of fast fashion.

The EAC has now confirmed that it has heard back from Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng who has confirmed the proposal is being explored.
