LEEDS – Supermarket chain Asda is to start selling second-hand apparel in 50 of its UK stores in a bid to give clothes “a new lease of life” and reduce waste.

It follows a successful trial in Leeds, where vintage wholesaler Preloved introduced “vintage, retro and second-hand branded pieces” to demonstrate the potential pre-owned can hold.

The pair will now extend the service throughout Britain, in London, Bristol, Brighton and beyond, as the company looks to accelerate its sustainability ambitions.
