LONDON – The UK’s Textile Services Association (TSA) is calling on the hospitality, catering and healthcare industries to unite and set about improving textile recycling rates.
The organisation says more than 30 million textile items, including sheets, pillow cases and towels are thrown away each year.
CEO David Stevens said: “The time is right for innovative solutions. We want to be part of the solution. So far our members have been very enthusiastic about the potential for them to help industries reducing waste and improving sustainability.”
