PITTSBURGH – US retailer American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) has become the third company to develop a collection that meets the principles of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s (EMF) Jeans Redesign Project.
AEO joins both Tommy Hilfiger and Frame, which both unveiled ranges earlier this year comprising more ‘sustainable’ materials that can be more easily disassembled and recycled at their end-of-life.
“By taking measures to ensure more responsible product sourcing, we are working hard to help create a healthier environment for future generations,” said Jay Schottenstein, chairman and CEO of AEO. “Our adoption of the guidelines set by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation for the ‘AE x Jeans Redesign’ collection represents our ongoing journey and pledge to accelerate improvements across our operations through innovation and collaboration.”
