LILLE - The six fashion brands of France's Mulliez dynasty are to set up a joint denim production plant in the northern city of Lille to sustainably produce garments closer to home.
The FashionCube Denim Centre, made possible by an investment of €3.5 million (US$4.2m), will create 105 jobs and is expected to be producing 410,000 pairs of jeans per year by 2024.
“The entire manufacturing process will be optimised to limit its environmental footprint. The plant will use 40 times less water during washing," according to a company statement.
