YANGON - Members of the ACT initiative - which include leading brands such as H&M, Zara owner Inditex and Primark - have published guidance on how to treat their suppliers in crisis-torn Myanmar.
ACT (Action, Collaboration, Transformation) says the safety and security of workers and factories in Myanmar’s garment and footwear supply chain is still under threat following the military coup at the beginning of February.
"Garment workers, trade union representatives and employers are daily navigating the new context that has occurred across Myanmar since February 2021," says an ACT statement.
