PHNOM PENH - Garment factory owners in Cambodia have rejected a request from their workers, who have been unable to work during the country's current lockdown, to be paid in full.
It comes as a new survey reveals that four-in-ten garment workers were unable to work for an average of 11 weeks due to coronavirus last year with many struggling to feed their families.
However, the Garment Manufacturers Association in Cambodia (GMAC) has refused calls for them to be paid in full for the latest lockdown period saying that the “principle of no work, no pay must prevail”.
