DHAKA - Only two per cent of garment workers in Bangladesh have so far been vaccinated against COVID-19 and the vast majority do not know how to gain information about accessing jabs, according to a new study.

The report, by the South Asian Network on Economic Modeling (SANEM) and Microfinance Opportunities (MFO), was based on a telephone survey of 1,285 workers across the five main industrial areas of Bangladesh - Chittagong, Dhaka City, Gazipur, Narayanganj and Savar - towards the end of April.

The survey found that only 22 per cent of the workers, who wished to be vaccinated, had information on how to gain access to jabs.
