STOCKHOLM – Swedish fashion giant H&M has declared its commitment to the EU Commission’s Green Consumption Pledge.

The initiative, launched in February, challenges signatories to align with three of five core principles addressing carbon emissions, transparency, industry best practices and the sale of ‘sustainable’ products.

Helena Helmersson, H&M’s CEO, commented: “The climate crisis and the necessary transformation of our industry requires us to take great steps. But we believe it’s only possible to do so by collaborating with others and developing forward-thinking solutions at EU level.”
