COLOMBO - Garment manufacturers in Sri Lanka are calling on brands and retailers to show fairness as they struggle to deliver orders on time with production hit by a third wave of COVID-19.

Limited access to vaccines for garment workers in production countries across South Asia is limiting production in garment factories amidst a spike in coronavirus cases.

In an open letter to buyers, the Joint Apparel Association Forum (JAAF), which represents Sri Lankan manufacturers, says that some buyers are showing a "lack of partnership" - even demanding that late orders be sent by air.
