GLOBAL - Garment manufacturers from nine supplier countries have come together to set out the practices they expect from the fashion brands and retailers who buy their products.

The Sustainable Terms of Trade Initiative (STTI), led by the STAR Network, the International Apparel Federation and Better Buying Institute, and supported by GIZ FABRIC, is hailed as the first joint manufacturers’ position statement on improving purchasing practices.

It has published its demands as a white paper on behalf of 13 industry associations from nine countries which face similar challenges regarding purchasing practices in the textile and garment industry.
