BROOMFIELD – US footwear brand Crocs has introduced a new bio-based material that it’ll look to integrate into its flagship clogs in a bid to reduce its carbon emissions.

The company recently set itself the target of reaching net zero status by 2030, and therefore sees greater benefit from integrating more ‘sustainable’ materials across its portfolio rather than launching an independent ‘sustainable’ collection.

Crocs CEO, Andrew Rees, commented: “By starting with our iconic product, backed by a first-to-market solution, we’re taking a bold step forward to create lower carbon footprint footwear while making it inherently simple for our partners and consumers to join us on our journey to net zero.”
