STONY BROOK – Molecular technologies specialist Applied DNA Sciences (ADNAS) says it’s secured a US$1.6 million order from an unnamed “textile customer” who’ll adopt PCR-based DNA material tags.

The New York-based company expects to ship the product by the end of the week and believes the scale of the deal highlights that the industry is bouncing back post-COVID.

MeiLin Wan, vice president of textile sales at ADNAS, said: “We are pleased to see demand for tagged textiles approaching pre-pandemic levels. The pandemic has forced textile brands and their suppliers to reimagine their supply chain models to prioritise sustainability, brand protection, and supply chain traceability.”
