ARKANSAS – US retail conglomerate Walmart has reaffirmed its commitment to becoming a regenerative company by establishing new timebound targets.
The company will look to cut its use of virgin plastic by 15 per cent by 2025, and is to team up with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation to promote the principles of a circular economy across its operations.
Walmart, which yesterday teamed up with environmental non-profit Canopy to protect ancient and endangered forests, said: “We must use our scale to spark collective action across our supply chain and industry.”
