LONDON – The British Heart Foundation (BHF) has called on fashion brands and retailers to donate surplus stock to support its cause and simultaneously keep clothing out of landfill.

The charity’s request coincides with the launch of environmental non-profit WRAP’s Textiles Action Week, as part of its Textiles 2030 initiative.

Dr Charmaine Griffiths, chief executive at the British Heart Foundation, said: “This Textiles Action Week we want to encourage others to join the Textiles 2030 initiative, so together we can build a more sustainable and circular UK textiles sector.
