ROME - Ahead of the G20 Summit in Rome, the Coalition to End Forced Labour in the Uyghur Region is calling on world leaders to ban the import of products, including cotton and yarn, from the Xinjiang region of China.
As G20 leaders prepare for the summit, on October 30th and 31st, the coalition is seeking support for its call for import bans on all products "tainted with Uyghur forced labour".
More than a million Uyghur Muslims are incarcerated in the Xinjiang region where many are allegedly forced to work in the cotton industry which meets a fifth of global demand.
