ROME – At this year’s G20 Summit in Rome, Prince Charles hailed leading fashion industry firms for adopting digital IDs within their garments and said it would help consumers make informed decisions.

The Prince of Wales, who founded the environmentally focused Fashion Taskforce, said: “People have the right to know if what they buy is created sustainably and there is a responsibility to tell them if we truly believe in the shared principles of transparency, accountability and enforcement.”

Representatives from the likes of Giorgio Armani, Mulberry, Chloe and Johnstons of Elgin were in attendance – and are all signatories to the Prince’s taskforce – as was Natasha Franck, the founder of circular solutions provider Eon, which created the digital ID technology.
