HAWASSA - PVH Corp, which owns brands including Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein, is to close its manufacturing facility in Ethiopia because of increasing concerns over the country's civil war.

The company, which opened the factory in the Hawassa Industrial Park in 2016, confirmed the decision was linked to the Ethiopian government's conflict with the Tigray People’s Liberation Front.

Chief supply chain officer Sarah Clarke said it had been a difficult decision but the factory would close on 25th November because of the “speed and volatility of the escalating situation".
