GLO-DJIGBÉ - Traceability solutions specialist FibreTrace has linked up with industrial park developer Arise Integrated Industrial Platforms (Arise IIP) to create what is claimed to be Africa’s first fully traceable cotton supply chain.

The two companies have launched a pilot programme enabling spinner-to-garment traceability for spinning facilities in the Glo-Djigbé Industrial Zone (GDIZ) in the Republic of Benin.

They claim the project is a "groundbreaking achievement for the fast-emerging African textile sector" which will trace, verify and audit the lifecycle of garments from spinning mills to stores.
