AMSTERDAM – The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) has received the backing of international disclosure organisation, CDP (formerly known as the Carbon Disclosure Project), to develop a new global standard to enable organisations to increase their accountability on biodiversity impacts and pave the way for a harmonised approach to disclosure.
However, given the slow implementation of biodiversity strategies so far by fashion brands, manufacturers and stakeholders in the textiles supply chain, this could have far-reaching implications for compliance further down the line.
